How to Add a Virtual Pet Widget to Your iPhone Home Screen
Short answer: install Pex (free) and create your pet. Then touch and hold your Home Screen, tap Edit, tap Add Widget, search for Pex, pick a size and tap Add Widget.

1. Create your pet in Pex
- Download Pex from the App Store and open it.
- Adopt a pet, or create your own with Pex AI from a photo of your real pet, a drawing, a toy or a keychain.

2. Add the Pex widget to your Home Screen
- Touch and hold an empty area of your Home Screen until the apps start to jiggle.
- Tap Edit in the top-left corner, then tap Add Widget.
- Search for Pex and tap it.
- Swipe to pick the widget size you like, then tap Add Widget.
- Drag the widget where you want it and tap Done.
Tips
- Put the widget on your first Home Screen page: you see your pet every time you unlock, so daily care is easy to remember.
- Your pet's hunger, happiness, cleanliness and sleep change through the day. Feed it, play with it and keep it clean, and it reacts with its animations.
- Want to see it before you even unlock? Add your pet to the Lock Screen too.
