Pex is committed to protecting the privacy and security of your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application ("App") and any services offered therein.

Information We Collect

We may collect and process the following types of information:

Usage information, such as your interactions with the App, IP address, device type, and operating system.
Information collected through cookies, analytics tools, and other tracking technologies.
Location data (city name, latitude, and longitude), collected only when location permission is granted and used exclusively for the Weather Widget feature.
Photos or images you choose to upload for AI pet creation, which are sent to our AI provider to generate your pet's pixel-art images and animations.
If you enable Cloud Backup, your AI-generated pet data (images, animations, and related details) is stored in a private, app-only space in your Google Drive (Android) or iCloud (iOS) account.

How We Use Your Information

We may use your information for the following purposes:

To serve personalized ads, including through Google Ads.
To generate your AI-created pet's pixel-art images and animations from the photo you submit.
To back up and restore your AI-created pet data across your devices, if you choose to enable Cloud Backup.

Third-Party Services

Our App integrates with the following third-party services, each governed by its own privacy policy:

Google Ads — used to serve personalized advertising.
OpenAI — processes the photos or images you submit to generate your AI pet's pixel-art images and animations.
Google Sign-In and Google Drive (Android) — used only if you enable Cloud Backup, to authenticate you and store your AI pet data in a private space in your Google Drive account.
Apple iCloud (iOS) — used only if you enable Cloud Backup, to store your AI pet data in a private space in your iCloud account.

Data Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your information from unauthorized access or disclosure. However, no data transmission or storage system can be guaranteed to be 100% secure.

Location Information

When you use the Weather Widget feature, the App requests access to your device's location (approximate and/or precise) to determine your current city and display local weather conditions on your home screen widget.

This location data is stored locally on your device and is never transmitted to our servers or shared with third parties. Location is only collected when you explicitly grant permission and is used solely to power the Weather Widget feature.

Your Choices

You may have options regarding the collection and use of your information, such as opting out of personalized ads. Please refer to your device settings and the settings within the App for more information.

Deleting Your Data

If you turn on Cloud Backup, your AI-generated pets — including their generated images and animations — are backed up to a private, app-only space in your own Google Drive (Android) or iCloud (iOS) account, never visible in your regular Drive or iCloud files. You can request deletion of this backed-up data at any time:

In the App (Android) — go to Settings → Cloud, open the backup details screen, and tap "Clear Cloud Data." This immediately and permanently deletes all of your backed-up pet data.
In iCloud settings (iOS) — on your iPhone or iPad, open Settings, tap your name, then iCloud → Manage Storage, select Pex and delete its data. This permanently deletes all of your backed-up pet data from iCloud.
Revoke access (Android) — visit myaccount.google.com/permissions and remove Pex's access. Since the backup lives in a private space tied to that permission, Google automatically deletes it once access is revoked.
By email — if you can't use the options above, for example because the App has already been uninstalled, email us at pexapplication@gmail.com and we will delete your backed-up data within 30 days.

Clearing your cloud backup does not delete the pets stored locally on your device. To remove all App data, uninstall the App.

Children's Privacy

Our App is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 13, please contact us.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The most current version will be posted on our App, and the effective date will indicate the latest revision.
